They seem to be less expensive, and less conservative in colour and style (not that that's necessarily a bad thing) than the sources for Kilt Hose.

Yes, I bought some from Webury just before Christmas. The cushion footed ones were excellent, washed well and kept their shape.

They also do some in a plain foot - these were washed at the same time, and the wool felted, despite being on a cool setting on the washing machine.

    All the best
    Graham.

I've tried to put through an order on this web page but they don't list the U.S. as an invoice or shopping destination and the order just keeps going around in a loop. I sent off an email to them but thought perhaps it's something I'm doing wrong?

    Ideas?
I was just about to order and ran into the same thing! Wow, too bad.

To reiterate: There *are* other vendors for the same item; see above.

Pointer Products seems to have a selection generally comparable to Shootingsocks.co.uk, even if they don't carry some of the more unusual options, such as the examples shown here:

However, you will find the House of Cheviot "Rannoch" hose mentioned above; Pointer carries Pennine (Coxwear) hose, too.

I'm jonesing for a pair of the Pennine "Derby Tweed" socks myself, and am quite intrigued by the "dogtooth check" hose and the sundry garter offerings -- though as with the "unusual" options pictured above, the latter would seem to work best with only certain tartans/color schemes.

I can see it now, we will see Ron in about a month in his Loud McLoud with some red hose with orange spots

Those are some great variations on diced hose.

I see an investment in shooting socks in my near future.

    Good information!

I currently (more often than ever) notice to what degree various “specialty item” sellers understand (or not) the full implications of Internet comparison-shopping.
