When I'm wearing boots, I scrunch down my hose. When I'm wearing ghillie (or for others, buckle) brogues, I wear my hose all the way up. But the hose that I am actually wearing with my boots is different than with my brogues. I wouldn't wear nice, hand-knit kilt hose with boots, and I don't wear cheap, thin hose with my brogues..
But that's just me, I like my dress hose thick and hand-knit.
