Red coats
Anyone know of any good places for red British military coats (obviously that of the Highland regiments)?
Also what are your thoughts on wearing them?

You can usually find some on Ebay.co.uk
I have always been of the opinion, and military friends agree, that it is O.K. so long as you remove any ranks and insignias so that it is a 'Military style' jacket.

Oh it would be mockery to wear it ranks and insignias as if I were in the British Military.
I'm going for more of an older look, like that of the earlier highland soldiers.

Are you doing this for reenactment/historic purposes?

Try Here:
http://regimental-quartermaster.com/
He makes them to your measurements, and they are of a style that is no longer worn by the british military. He is one of, if not THE, tailor for the "Bydand Forever" living history group.
Hope this helps,
Cheers,
Chad

If you're interested in an 18th century jacket, as worn by the Black Watch and other regiments, try Barkertown Sutlers.

Not too much point to this gentlemen. I don't think the OP will be seeing it.
But as always everyone here jumps at the opportunity to help out. I, for one, thank you for that.
I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature's ways of fang and claw or exposure and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow. - Fred Bear
