Nun Update
I have moved to a new "local community"; it is delightful. I'm living with two other Sisters of St. Joseph in a local convent. My body and some of my skirts and tops for school are there, but my other stuff is still at the convent where I was for the past ten years. You'd be amazed what a delight it is just to have another person in the house and to be back to communal living. AND..we have a chapel right in the convent! AND...I got to choose my own room...it is soft blue (blue is my favorite color)..woo-hoo! Very cool!
I stayed there starting Sunday and we already got to have our first adventure: one of our Sisters needed to get to Memphis, TN for the funeral of her uncle, so we found her a cheap ticket and headed out for Detroit Metro. This was the first time I'd ever driven to Metro...hence the adventure! Sister Sharon navigated and Sister Grace was the praying passenger. On the way home, I took what I thought would be a short cut and we basically ended up in "the sticks" on a country road with huge potholes...much hilarity ensued!
One of the Sisters in my new convent was in my original sponsoring community when I was preparing to become a Sister. She has been so kind and good and helpful; she came right away when my best friend-Sister-mentor that I had lived with for ten years passed very unexpectedly January 16th. I do believe Sister Joan is helping to arrange things from above!
Have a great day, and for those of you in bad weather places, may it only snow if it is enough to give you a day off (and one for me, as well!).

Congratulations on your new living arrangements. How is pipe practice going to fit in with a quiet community of contempative nuns? Wow, I was almost alliterative there. I hope you are healing. I am starting a Prayer Shawl ministry in our parish. I mentioned it at coffee after daily mass a few weeks ago, and some other ladies grabbed the idea. Good luck to you.

Just because you are paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you.

Glad to hear things are going well.
Road trips where you end up in "the sticks" are some of the most fun.

Sister,
It would seem that things are looking up for you......Who said that nuns can't have fun.

"...and Sister Grace was the praying passenger."
OK, that made me laugh. When I was in high school, we always knew when things were bad when Sr. Peg muttered, "Jesus, Mary and Joseph..."
Why, a child of five could understand this. Quick -- someone fetch me a child of five!

Instead of a designated driver you have a praying passenger! I like that idea.
Usually my delightful young spouse is the praying passenger, because she doesn't like the way I drive, especially when I look at something on the side of the road and then steer the truck in that direction.

Glad that all is going well again, and it is nice to read your happy post.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…
