Rainbow Bridge Variant
As some of you might have read in an earlier posting, I lost my mother several months ago. She left a cat and a dog behind, which I have been caring for since then. Last week, the cat started going downhill quickly, and I realized that his time was up. I had to put him to sleep last night.
When the staff at the animal hospital saw how upset I was, they gave me a copy of the Rainbow Bridge. I then explained that he was my mother's cat and that it was hitting me that I was losing a little bit more of her with his passing. They pointed out that this was even better for him as he had his owner waiting for him at the end of that bridge.
I'm still upset, but it is a comforting thought that they are together again.

Just because you are paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you.

I'm so sorry to hear of the sorrows you have been dealing with. It doesn't seem like it at times, but things will get better. Always know you have the strength and support of family and friends and of course your family here at X-Marks. You can always lean on us anytime you need to .

This seems appropriate...
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I am standing upon the seashore.
A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze
and starts for the blue ocean.
She is an object of beauty and strength,
and I stand and watch until at last she hangs
like a speck of white cloud
just where the sea and sky come down to mingle with each other.
Then someone at my side says,
"There she goes! "
Gone where?
Gone from my sight...that is all.
She is just as large in mast and hull and spar
as she was when she left my side
and just as able to bear her load of living freight
to the place of destination.
Her diminished size is in me, not in her.
And just at the moment
when someone at my side says,
"There she goes! "
there are other eyes watching her coming...
and other voices ready to take up the glad shout...
"Here she comes!"
Why, a child of five could understand this. Quick -- someone fetch me a child of five!
