Thanks, ChattanCat, that is, in fact, my corduroy jacket, waistcoat and daywear ensemble... Inspired by MacMillan of Rathdown of course.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

And to finnish off the evening, I lopped off a broccoli top from the garden, and

*Oh, never mind, the broccoli was good. *

Really sharp. The conversion is quite good, the corduroy adds that bit of individuality, and those Hawick hose match the brown in the tartan exactly.

Very well put together. Oh, and sorry, no wait congratulations on the cacti?

Thank you. Like I said, I got it right once. And that is the only picture of the cacti while getting it right that I have.

I haven't decided what to put there in their place, but it will probably be more desert plants. I used to have almond, apricot, and peach trees out front, but I stick to mostly desert plants now. I guess I had a fig tree out there too.

Well, I have almost all of the cactus pads divided up; I'm still picking spines out of my hands, though.
Some of the pads had woodpecker dammage, and though they would be fine to start as new plants, I decided to chop a lot of those into pieces and heave them on the compost pile. It was about a five gallon bucket full. A salad shooter would have helped.

Some of the pads are going to people with sulcata tortoises. They have changed the zoning codes, or a minature nanny goat might come in handy to process the cactus chunks before going into the compost heep. Could probably help keep the wild bermuda grass under control too.

I'll put a little garden sulfer on the cut parts of the cacti, then plant them in a month or so.

Thanks Mein. I did have a thread on this ensemble, but I guess it wasn't in the pic forum.

Perhaps, eventually , I will have a kilt in the Bear tartan to go with this ensemble. That would be proper, and looking at the thread count of my tartan, I think it would go quite well.

As a side note, I've been picking my citrus trees clean over the last couple of weeks. I keep some of them for myself. Except for the grapefruit because I end up having to eat all those on my own.
