Thank you for your comments abot the jabot. I would agree that closing the jacket would show the lace more.
However, there does not seem to be any way to close the jacket. There is a column of silver buttons on each side but no buttonholes. The picture on Alexis Malcolm's website shows it open as well.
Somewhere I saw a comment that this was an older style of jacket. Perhaps it preceeded the Montrose or other doublets that were intended to close?
If anyone has a picture of a Sheriffmuir jacket being worn, could you please post it?
