    Denim Reverse-Kingussie Kilt

    Hello again!

Let me share some progress pictures of a reverse-kingussie pleated light blue denim kilt that I'm making for guy who won a fund-raising raffle (I raffled off a custom-made denim kilt). He's been waiting for a while...

    Marking the fabric:

    Pleat, pleat, pleat away:

    WIP (Work-In-Progress) Front-view
It's slowly taking shape. It's a variation on the X-Kilt.

Check back early and often... I hope to finish and send off by this weekend.

Remember my first kilt DIY of 9 months ago? It's denim (the same color and weight) too.

    Thanks for any comments

No. I thought about that. Specially given that this pic of the kilt I made 9 months ago still looks the same now and they're the same fabric. Thanks. I pressed these pleats into submission...

It may be too late for me to sew all the way at this point. Hmmm...

    You're just too busy, Mein.
    Hope it comes out well.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

I like the edge of the apron on denim kilts. Just seems "Right"

You nearly had me doubting what I was seeing then - until I realised that it was two separate kilts from the same material.

Having always chosen softer fabrics in cotton, and been on a wool buying spree recently, I discounted denim as too stiff - now I am beginning to wonder if I was too quick to do so.

And I really like that shade of blue - the pleats seem nice and sharp - it looks soooooo good.

Lucky raffle ticket buyer if his RK version looks as good as the one you are wearing.

That looks great! You ever planing to put hidden pockets on a kilt like that? I think I would like to try to make one like yours someday. When I finally finish college.

    Looking good Mein
I look forward to more photos as this one goes along, I'm sure the lucky raffle winner will love it.
