I will not be going as I am still coming down from our Worldwide Gathering of Clan MacIntyre in Lorn last July. To compensate, I am planning my third, but not consecutive, trip to the Long's Peak Highland Games in Estes Park, CO. They have the BEST scotch tasting I've ever attended.

Congratulations, Frank, really great news! Best of luck with the new job.
But will you really have to wait until November to start?

Mael,
I will also be attending, but Clan Elliot is having their gathering a few days before in Newcastleton. We should find a place to meet and share a pint (or a wee dram) in Edinburgh.

How far away is it? I was considering staying in Dumfries anyways for a night or 2 while I'm over, but I've no clue (yet) where anything is in relation to each other so was really just planning on staying there for the heck of it...

Aye, mate! Maybe the other lads who are going to be there would like to lift a few with us!

Ooooh. Didn't think of that. Would be totally worth it though. No doubt.

Michelle and I will be there...Gathering passports ordered.
Our (somewhat complicated) travel plan:
We rented a cottage in Normandy (France) for a week, from there we take the ferry from Calais to Dover and stay in London for a few days (British Museum, Imperial War Museum, Tate Gallery and Gordon Ramsay's restaurant are on our to do list)...From London we drive up north with a B&B en route...most likely somewhere in Yorkshire...from Yorkshire to Edinburgh where we stay in a nice hotel during the Gathering weekend. We take the ferry from Newcastle to IJmuiden to get back home again.
See you there!

Jim and I have been booked into our usual Edinburgh B&B (in Murrayfield), and had our 'Silver Passports' confirmed, since early last year, so we'll be at The Gathering in Holyrood Park, the Clan March and the Clan Pageant at Edinburgh Castle (to name just a few events). Naturally, we hope to see many of you whilst we are 'in residence'!
Take care,
Ham.
