    Pittsburgh / Western PA ??

Anything going on in the Pgh area? Anyone willing to help me get something started if the answer is currently no? Still finding my way around in the 'burgh. Who knows the venues or pubs?

Wish I could help you, I live two hours away and do not make it up there very often. If you do get something going I may be able to attend. I do remember a really good sandwich place "Big Headz" I think, sandwiches as big as your head for pretty decent prices. Usually a wait for tables it is a pretty popular place.

C'mon, there's got to be more Pittsburghers out there!

Although I don't have any specific place or time, I'm up for a kilt night.

There is a pub in Monroeville that brews their own, have Scottish eggs for starters, and serve only The Glenlivet.

I am on the road for about four of the next five weeks. Won't be back until March 21. Would love a kilt night later in March or early April

As far as downtown goes I remember a place on the North Shore near the Clemente bridge that was an Irish pub.

Of course you have all of Carson St. as well along the south side.
The Church Brew Works is another nice place.

And one of my favorites is the Sharp Edge Creek House out towards Crafton/Ingram right of RT 60. 50 or so brews on tap. They also have a rotating cask brew as well. I haven't been back to the 'burgh for a while but they used to do tastings fairly often as well.

...was the sandwich place called Fat Head's?

Yep that is the one, http://www.fatheads.com Fat Heads, 42 beers on tap, pretty decent place. Thought they were going to have to roll me out of there though, I was way too full when I left lol.

When I used to hang out on Carson St. I could never pass up the chicken-on-a-stick from this Vietnamese couple that had a stand right near there.

...maybe I should try to make it down there for the Southside Street Spectacular.
