    New Japanese tartan

    This one seems to have slipped under the radar - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/...ds/7572244.stm

    Not sure I would be into pink mind you.

    Very interesting. The artical didn't seem to suggest it would be used for kilts, so much as mini skirts and girl's school uniforms in Japan. Glad the Japanese will now have a tartan, though.

    * sigh *

    I do remember that thread. I feel differently or have a better understanding and respect toward representative tartans now from when that thread ran it's course.

    We have a huge amount of Japanese visitors here in this part of Scotland and I wonder how long it will be before I see that tartan alighting from a coach?

    Well, if you see a man wearing that kilt who's carrying a 4ft long sword, which could slice through your skull, would you make any negative comments?

    Oh yes!----------------I would have to check that he did not understand English first, though.
