I use voIP service through my cable company and have been very pleased with it. It's a little more expensive to go through cable than with a Vonage type alternative, but I have enhanced E-911 service included which was important to me.

We have that option available too. Since I'm already giving them all my cash for cable and internet, might as well go to bed with them all the way. Is teh service good?

We have NPG cable and so far everything has been great. So far customer service has been more than up to par. I even had a senior Tech stop by and ask how the install went.
I haven't had any dropped calls or interuptions. The only draw beck is if the power goes out (needs power for router.)

From what I understand most VOIP lines are very reliable now. As for the 911 issue... you just have to make a call and register your location. And make sure that you change your address with them if you should move!!!!

We have these massive battery backups at the radio station. About the size of a microwave. Perhaps I should stea...er...look into that option.
