I don't know about sewn - maybe a double row of rivets.
Probably a bit too Klingon for me personally - but it's a thought!!

Ahh, the denim reverse-K xkilt is done!
The reverse-Kingussie pleating style:

Thank you Phil. I had planned for a pair of cargo pockets on this one -- but I decided against it because as it is now, the kilt has a very simple and clean look.
(I'll likely add cargo pockets in the next denim kilt that I make...)
