I have dined with John Browning's grandson,does that count? For Todd, Viscount Slim was my God father and I have dined with him often,so I suppose they don't count as they are/were alive!. So my three are;

What three famous people, either living or dead, would you most like to have dinner with? And why?

James VI -- to experience at first hand his extreme eccentricity, his understanding of his role in society and his view of the future
Alfred Adler -- just to bask (?) in what he never put on paper but others have attributed to him
Adam Smith -- acknowledging his philosophy and those of his generation, to query our path over the past 200 years.

1. John "the Red" Comyn; so I could interview him and get a first hand account of what really happened in that church in Dumfries with the ambitious Robert Bruce.

2. Mary, Queen of Scots; I would tell her not to run to her cousin in England for help.

3. St. Leo I; anyone who can get Attila the Hun to turn back from the gates of Rome is a man I'd want to meet.

Why don't you all invite another person to dine with you, not famous....ME! That way I can enjoy dining with all the folks you have suggested! What great lists.

Or, how about 20 people!! That way I can really throw one hell of a party!

OR, do they have to be famous? I would like to dine with my ggggg grandfather who came over on the boat in 1737; and my gggg grandfather who was a Sjt. serving at Valley Forge; and my gg grandmother from Scotland!

Ok, I'll obey the rules....but VERY difficult! Today's list.....(will change by tomorrow depending on my mood....): Mark Twain, Groucho Marx and Bennett Cerf (I enjoy reruns of What's My Line?...maybe Dorothy Kilgallen can serve us gin and tonics?).
