And there was a pipe band

And a great cheese stall

Soon we were chilling out but not yet refueling cos there was a big queue at the bar ... we decided to claim a seat first

The view fom the window we wee by in the pub

It was a beautiful day so we went for a stroll after coming out of the pub
and this is the first person we met

Then we took a bus back up to town. When we got off I took a pic of St Johns Church Bell Tower.

Then we took to the Tango party and put up some more refueling

We were a little early and they were still sorting themselves out

Then they lit some candles by us

People started turning up

It was a fab eve

An amazing set of very atmospheric images there, Derek. Don't you just love the football supporter in the dragon kilt - he's great! I recognised the route of the march, having previously done much of it on foot, and the rest on the bus, with Elaine and you. The area around the Millennium Centre and The Senedd were familiar to me too (as well as being the ground level covering to the underground 'Torchwood' HQ!!).

Thanks for sharing those wonderful pictures with us. I got a few calls from my Welsh friends yesterday wishing me well and talking of their plans to celebrate the day. Fantastic pictures. Brings us right there.

Alas I wasn't able to make it this year as I was up in Mid Wales getting the car serviced and riding on the Severn Valley Railway instead but of course patriotically sporting my St Davids Cilt!
