1st day out kilted with no occasion

So the wife wanted to go to the Mall yesterday and I decided Mall with the wife and my 2 small children (ages 2 & 5) would be much more fun kilted despite the temp in the low 20's F. It also gave me a chance to wear my new-2-me sporran (puchased here, Thanks NewKilt) Spent several hours in several stores without a single comment, good or bad. There were of course the stares, but that's it. The day was cut short when my 2 year old daughter decided she was going to crash and burn and hurt her wrist bad enough to warrant an ER visit. So not only did I get to go to the Mall for the first time kilted, I got to go to the Hospital as well. She's fine, turns out it was a partially dislocated elbow (handmaid's or something like that) and she's good to go.

Fun day, but not exactly what I was expecting. Will be doning the kilt all day next Saturday as well. Travelling to Buffalo for a Birthday party of a friend and was specifically requested to wear the kilt.

One of these outings I'll have to get the wife to actually take a picture.

Nursemaid's elbow. If it's anything like my neighbors daughter, you best learn how to pop it back in.
    Good luck to the bairn!

    Oh there was definitly screaming!!!!!!

Tony, you are correct "Nursemaid's Elbow" and I think you might be right about learning to treat this myself. My daughter is 2 and already causing me much gray hair. She's my climber, my jumper and just all around fearless and crazy child.

Every day provides an occasion for wearing a kilt.

My oldest is 4, and if I could understand his fears.

Cower in the corner Fears: Homer Simpson as Santa. Eeyore w/ flopping ears. Flies. Self flushing sit down toilets.

    mild fears: Noise. The cat.

Doesn't fear: Bugs that are not flies. Halloween ghost. Eeyore w/o flopping ears. Things that could only be described as supernatural in nature.

I don't know what Homer Santa did to scare him, but I forgot he was on top of the fridge one winter and it was almost March before I realized why he wouldn't come into the Kitchen. Oddly, he won't allow Eeyore out of his closet, because that is where Eeyore lives. We tried to remove it from the house once, and he cried, because Eeyore (whom he fears with every ounce of his body) needed to remain in the closet, 'because he lives there' was his reason.
