Not quite a Utilikilt, but I have often been through airports in Europe wearing a denim Union kilt which also has lots of studs and snaps and I have not had any problems. Had to empty the pockets and put the belt through the x-ray (be sure to wear a kilt which will stay up without a belt) and been wanded and frisked a few times but the kilt has never caused me any delay or embarrassment.
