I think the real question here is if you had to cut your hair short, would you take the hair and use it on a sporran?
Kind of like a horse hair sporran...
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

except for some trimming of my own, I have not had my hair cut in the past 10-15 years. At work I have it pulled back in a pony tail, but most of the time at home I just it be loose. A couple of times I have had my wife do the two braids, one on each side, and then pulled to the back and held together like a pony tail.

The hair on my face is longer than the hair on my head. Does that count?

Well, I just had 11" cut off mine. Sent it in to www.locksoflove.com This is the second time. Takes me about two years to grow it back out. At present I have a baby ponytail about 3" to 4"s.

Chuckle... it was a revival of that show (Hair: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical) that started my growing the hair out most recently (for large values of "recent"). Nowadays, it's primarily a pony-tail (thinning), occasionally worn down with the belted plaid, because it just seems to fit.

I think my hair is either the same length as yours Riverkilt, or at least pretty close to it. I usually wear it loose, but I also do a braid or a ponytail. i'm not sure how to post pictures.
My daughter attacks my hair sometimes, and my wife's hair too, but I don't think she can do a French braid. Sometimes I braid my wife's hair, but I do mine myself.
Cynthia, I know you from another board, not unrelated to the subject of this thread. Or should I call you Darth Cynthia?

"Darth Cynthia"
?
Anyway, my hair is some where about mid-back long. The front is long enough to reach around to the hair tie for a ponytail. It doesn't curl.
I guess I could put it in a simple braid, but I really never do. However, when I do pull it back into a ponytail, sometimes I twist the sides under to help kind of hold it all in place better. Don't know if that makes sense.

Been longhaired since 2001, except for a couple times in 2003 and 2004, when it did get unceremoniously lopped off. Used to frequent the old Men's Long Hair Hyperboard, but haven't been there in a while. Just too many forums to deal with. Hair is currently about mid-back length. I do have some thinning going on, due to my wearing it tied back 99% of the time. Usually means that I have to go for a much higher than normal 'tail, to help keep the thinned spots hidden.
