Arlen, that would be so cool. You have a most interesting family, and as an honorary Bear, they might finally accept you.
Best,
Rex.
At any moment you must be prepared to give up who you are today for who you could become tomorrow.

The Bear tartan looks fantastic and is exactly the sort of thing I would wear. I probably wouldn't wear it, however, because I'm not really part of that culture (despite being told I'm quite the candidate). It's not because I'm trying to avoid being associated with it, rather I wouldn't wear it for the same reason I would not wear the Leatherneck tartan despite being encouraged to by friends in the USMC. I'd hate to run into someone who didn't feel I had any business wearing it.

I can understand that, Cassidy, and relate to your feelings.
To me, it is a bit like my clan tartan, and in that way, I can understand when the Scots on the forum ask that their tartan be respected.
As I said before, friends and family of LGBT often show their support. I think most of the Bear community would not have a problem with the tartan being worn with respect; in other words, it would not be the community objecting to the wearing of their tartan.

I recently saw the Bear tartan at an HRC event and loved it - I had to do some research on it, and of course, my XMTS brethren are already on the cutting edge. This may have to go on my list, too!

Thank you for joining, Barclay, and welcome to The Bear Tartan social group.
I guess since we have the link to the social groupe, as well as a few other important Bear links, this should be the thread for the social group too. It has the right title.
