I agree that sometimes I just really appreciate the anonymity that jeans have over a tartan kilt. It has nothing to do with being thin skinned. It has everything to do with wanting to go about my business un-noticed. I'm a natural introvert and a bit of a misanthrope, so sometimes wearing a kilt out and about is actual work for me. Obviously your mileage may vary. That does not mean that I'm ever afraid, embarresed or ashamed to wear my kilts. On the contrary, when I don my kilts I always wear them proudly. But sometimes the attention that they draw isn't something with which I feel like dealing.
