I would not say that every post on XMTS fulfills The 4 way test in any way shape or form.
However based on our basic rules and spirit of this community I would say that it is in general an excellent fit.
Looking at Wolfgore's thread (Anatomy of a XMTS Thread?
), I see two posters that didn't like it. Actually three but one saw merit in it to interest a nephew who was a Star Wars fan.
I personally agree with you that the two negative opinions expressed were not asked for or needed in this thread.
To their credit they do use "I" statements and one of the posters and Wolfgore seemed to have reached an accord.
As I mentioned before, nobody is perfect and there is always room for improvement.
Each day I get up and strive to be the gentleman I want to be.
Just like each day I get up and strive to be the husband, father, son, and friend I want to be.
The four way test is a lofty goal.
But having a high goal is a very good thing.
If we do remember to stop and question ourselves periodically, to think of others, to remember to be honest, polite, and kind, and to strive to be that better person, we may not achieve it.
But we are the better for it, and our community is the better for it.
And that is a very good thing!
Cheers
