What Does It Say On My PC Buttons?

So I'm examining my new PC getting ready to do some pics and I'm looking at the silver buttons. Guess it may vary from place to place but this PC was made by Lochcarron.
The silver buttons have a small rampant lion in the center and then lettering around the edge.

The top left and right of each button seems to say, "Clannnar Sael" and the bottom left and right of each button seems to say "Ansrall Racrell"

Now this blind olde geezer is using his most powerful textile glass and the words seem to make no sense. Figured Gaelic maybe. Tried Googling to no avail.

Just curious, but hopeful there's some expert out there that can translate or explain.

 Thanks.

"Clan na Gael" was the name of a pipe band from this area not too long ago. Maybe you got one of their jackets or some of their buttons.

					Hi Ron,
There was a thread a while back where someone asked this, so I'll just re-post what I wrote:

I have the same buttons on my Argyll jacket. It is Scottish Gaelic written in the Old Irish alphabet, and it's a bit difficult to make out. Whether this is from the moulding or not, it is hard to distinguish the letters "i" or "l".

 Mine reads:
Clann nan Gael (Family or tribe of Gaels)
An Grailib (Grallib, Grailibh?) na Creile (or Crelle?) (The ? of the ?)

There are definitely no fada (length marks/accents) on the letters. As this is in the Old Script, it would have been represented by a straight line above a vowel, not like the acute (Irish) or grave (Scottish) accents used today.

					Thanks,
Missed the old thread, sorry gang. Now I'm wondering if the buttons are a copy of old ones - historic?

Ron, these buttons have been around for at least fifty years that I'm aware of, and it would surprise me it they were fifty years older than that! I've seen them stamped or cast out of everything from silver to plastic, with silver, gold, and black finishes.

Just a guess on my part, but possibly they are the result of a largeish order some time back 100-150 years or so for a batch of uniforms. As a result, the originals would be widely dispersed, and therefore handy to be copied. Sort of like the almost-but-not-quite U.S. Navy buttons found on so many sport jackets today.
