PS. They did a mythbusters on the "robin hood" splitting arrow thing... Myth Busted. Apparently you can't even split an arrow if you hold it still and try to run a knife through it. The grains always prevail and force the knife/arrow out before it makes it all the way down.

Is THIS a myth?

WAY COOL! The mythbusters was about whether the splitting an arrow was possible.

My hunting club has a requirement that you can shoot an apple from 30 yards, 16' up in a tree. The idea is that if you can hit an apple, you should be able to place a clean shot on a deer.

I'm not good enough to do it consistently yet, but from time to time i'll nail my previously shot arrows. Though the "theatrical" version of the robin hood isn't possible, i think just getting one arrow lodged firmly into the backside of another counts just as much.

That is what I'm talking about! I've got one!! I've busted countless nocks...

Please note, the arrow that is in the target: has no nock, the taper has been cut off and it was larger in diameter than the arrow being shot... It's still a fantastic display of accuracy!
