I know a number of professional fly fishing guides and fish with them quite often. I was even invited to join in and guide professionally in Northern Idaho and Western Montana - but I quickly declined. During the season, guides work nonstop 14 hour days rowing gents down beautiful patches of water while doing everything in their power to help them land a few trophy size trout without killing them (the gents AND the fish). I quickly realized its far more fun fishing alone and with my guide friends on their days off than work that hard for meager wages.
