Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders (Stirling Castle)
I had a day out at Stirling castle & Wallace monument yesterday with my girlfriend, the weather closed in on us, but when at the castle we visited the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders museum.

It's a great exhibition isn't it? I was particularly fascinated by the vast collection of medals on display.

we didn't have that much time to have a good look (spent too much time going round the castle), as we needed to get over to tillicoultry before the shops closed but it was good viewing.
Edinburgh castle is our next wee jaunt

Strange they should have so much Gordon tartan on display there! Either way, I'd really like to get up to the Highlands and explore some of the old regimental bases.

My grandfather was Sutherland. Thanks so much for sharing the photos. One of these days I plan to go the County Sutherland for a visit.

Awesome! I didna know about the tartan glengarrys though. First time I've seen one as part of a regimental uniform.

That's not the Gordon regimental tartan, though. I believe that is the Lamont tartan from the old 74th Argyll Highlanders.

TBH, i looked closely to the kilt in the second pic, and where it was worn away at the top, it didn't look as if it was heavy wool, it kinda looked strange, papery looking if you know what i'm trying to discribe
