Wacky-Tacky Day

In the epitome of all high school spirit, mine is having a wacky-tacky dress day coming up. Now, while I'm not normally one for the public display of school spirit, since it's so easy to look tacky in a kilt, I figured I might give it a go.

Yes or no on this idea. If yes, what horrible things should I wear with it?

Well...if you had a tartan in your school colors......??

Did this whacky turn out for Halloween a few years ago...didn't seem to highlight the kilt per se.



Or a bright aloha shirt with a tartan kilt....

Think you can pull it off without giving a costume look...

Tacky is easy....

I'd have to go with PhogFan on this one. If you want an excuse to wear it- go for it. But I wouldn't wear it with the intent of ridiculing the kilt. I agree it would be a good day to get away with wearing one, but not the way it sounds like your going to...just my opinion, you know what they say about those.

My reaction was initially the same as Phogfan's. But, I think that, like with other clothing, you can do it with the kilt. I think as long as it's not an outfit designed to make fun of the kilt, but rather something outlandish in the spirit of school spirit that happens to include the kilt, go for it.

You could always do hose or soccer/rugby socks in your school colors. If your colors are blue and white, one sock/hose in blue, one in white. Flashes alternating.

That's my only idea at 2am...

I will add my 2 cents worth too!

If it doesn't bring shame to your clan,or the kilt, or to any one else's,
go for it as long as it's do in good clean fun. You will be in control of that.
Others will judge your actions,{remember that} if you ever want to wear your
kilt for a serious occassion.

For most of us the kilt represents an almost mystical connection to our past and we try to protect it. But who better to make fun than ourselves, if we can't poke fun once in a while and have a laugh then why do we do this.
I say go for it and have a jolly good time. Just remember to go to church afterward and say hail Mary's till your blue in the face LOL

Or if your not Catholic,skip the hail Mary's, if your Baptist perhaps go straight to the nearest pub and and drink til your blue in the face-Bwaahaaaaa~
