St. Pete / Clearwater Commercial
It's not entirely clear to me why, but at the end of a new St. Pete / Clearwater, Florida, tourism commercial, a piper in full kit appears standing out on the white sand beach along with an array of characters in various forms of working attire - present and historical, I think.
Regards,
Rex.
At any moment you must be prepared to give up who you are today for who you could become tomorrow.

Perhaps to denote Dunedin, just north of Clearwater. They have highland games at some time in the winter, recently, I think.

I live in the area, sort of. The store "The Celtic Shop" is in that area. We do have a lot of Highland Games in the area. The group "New World Celts" started in Dunedin and I believe it's the largest Celtic organization in the world and is only about 10 years old. My group the "Jacobites: Scottish & Irish club of Lakeland, Fl" is a member. Most of the cities around here were founded by Scottish immigrants. ex. = Sarasota, Dunedin, Polk County (where I am), etc.. There are several Schools with pipe bands and kilted marching bands in the area as well.

I used to live a few blocks north of Clearwater in... Dunedin. I have a feeling that's why he was in there.
Our marching band demonstrated just why the Pipes were banned as an instrument of war!

Dunedin and Sarasota Florida were both Scottish "colonies"; the former was started by two Scottish businessmen in the late 1890s.
