Not a great Tartan DAY!!!!
It was not a great day, political Army BS, you know the story, my rank is bigger than yours, my position outranks your title, etc, etc… Whew! What a day. I was being pulled is more ways than one. The only thing I had to look forward to was a nice micro brewed beer and a decent fish & chips and perhaps a good baseball game.
Then I get this text from my soon to be ex-wife’s friend. “I need to know from you if you and Sylvette still have a chance to make things work? Before I help her find someone else, I want to make sure.”
:crap:
I thought that since it was the official tartan day that I would wear my Stillwater Black Watch, green hose, and white dress shirt with my new First Infantry Division tie. As I was enjoying my first beer the CG’s aid walked into the Little Apple Brewery and we discussed the finer points of beer, tartan day, and the fact that neither one of us had fully enjoyed our Pheasants we took this past winter. He wolfed down his beer before the Major General arrived and was off to the dining area before I could say cheers.
I also left my camera at the house, so these are the only pictures I could muster; hope that the ensemble is appropriate and acceptable to the rabble.
Oh, and I was supposed to pick up my black Argyll Jacket from the post office but I was unable to make the 25+ mile journey from the post to my rural post office due to the numerous meetings etc.. I think that this kilt and tie combination would have been perfect with my new black Argyll Jacket. Oh, and I know I am rambling, but I was going to wear my new tank and the Argyll Jacket to my work wife’s wedding, and this morning she told me that the wedding is off! What a day! :buttkick:
Don't let the smile fool you, I am a Leo, so I can ham it up for the camera.

I think I will have another drink from my new bottle.

Cheers
Chris

FWIW, I think your wife's friend was trying to be honorable and fair to you.
Some days just suck, and there is nothing to be done about it. Not too many drams, okay?

You had a whisky so how could it be a bad tartan day?
Good photos too!

Not a good day! My father had a saying for days such as the one you have had:" when you are at the bottom of a hole ,the only way you can go is up!". Those few words have got me through on more than one occasion.

That's how it came across to me too. Anyway, you look great, I hope you enjoyed your dram, and better days ahead, eh?

... when you are at the bottom of a hole, the only way you can go is up!
Yes, but sometimes you think it's the bottom, but it's really not.
Sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bug ...
