That's fantastic. I can't wait to tackle an X-kilt using your updated manual. Thanks for all your hard work.

Can't wait to host this for the rabble!

Um, you know, this is why I use OpenOffice with its direct to pdf export function. It never (and I do mean never) 'flummoxes' the format. What you see on the screen is what you get in export. It can do W$ word and rtf, too.

M$ Word in all its variations never could export with a print to pdf function correctly for me.

Anyway, let me know when it's ready or just email it to me at my email addy and I'll post the link.

    FINALLY, IT'S DONE

The second edition is done. It has pictures from a number of X-Markers, with major thanks to the F-H.C.A.G. who contributed lots of them from her threads in this forum on making her own X-Kilts. Tartan Hikers great "shortcuts" are still there, of course! There are pics of meinfs, fluter, Farlander and others.. HUMONGOUS thanks go to sydnie7 for reviewing the text and writing a KILLER addendum on how to adapt the X-Kilt instructions to Reverse Kinguisse style.

I've also *finally* corrected the issue of the over-apron strip-velcro problem which has been the source of much confusion since the first edition came out.

For now, you can download the second edition here:

    http://cmgm.stanford.edu/~ahebert/Xk...t2ndedRevK.pdf

Note that the Manual is now 60 pages. It's a 40+ mbyte download! Anyway, patience pays!.

That URL will change to Bunchdescendents server, soon, unless the mods decide that X Marks wants to host the download.

Carry on, and keep making those kilts!!

    AND

This hereby and officially ends the X-Kilt project. I'm done with it.....until, of course someone finds another mistake in this edition...

((((quick switch of URL 'cause I misspelled sydnie7's name on the front page! sheesh)))

    Bravo, Alan!

(So I suppose you don't want me to send you photos of how I make my reverse Kingussie with the centered external box-pleat that doesn't look like anything you've ever seen before! )

Just scanned though the new edition and saved the file. What a fantastic job. Alan, you're the man!! I know you had some help, but without your first edition this second edition would never have come about.

    Thanks from all of us.
