I am sure that it's not just ladies who are attracted to the kilt.

You've got that right! I'd call the kilt an all-around magnet!

You people need the kilt to get women to talk to you? I just must be dead sexy.

I actually once had a guy come over to me and say that he had thought about telling me that I had a lovely skirt... and then he realized that I was big and scary, so he thought better of it, and just complimented it as a kilt, instead.

I was kilted today while shopping with my wife and she was getting very annoyed that I was getting talked to at nearly every store we visited. She also wasn't very happy that I wasn't wearing my wedding band

I think that currently, the wearing of the kilt implies that the wearer is a person of confidence and is self-assured. People find that attractive. There are a lot of ways to get attention, but a kilt has a historical and cultural significance backing it up.

Thinking about it a little more, and it almost makes me not want the Kilt to be more mainstream. As Syndrome said in The Incredibles, "When everyone is special, then nobody is."
