Possibilities
1) your legs need to be an inch or so longer
2) your kilt needs to be an inch or so shorter
3) the angle of the photograph makes the kilt appear longer than it is
4) everything is just fine
I prefer the kilt to come to just the top of the knee cap, as I believe that gives the wearer a more elegant look as it makes his legs look longer.
