Hello and welcome to Xmarks from Savannah, GA. Best thing to do is start digging up stuff from family members and once you have some names and places then start hitting genealogy websites and Googling some of that info. But nothing will be as accurate as family histories. My wife's side of the family kept extensive records of everyone and everywhere they lived that goes back 800 or 900 years. They just kept passing it down. My side of the family- not so lucky. We are in the same boat as you are, trying to play catch up. It's hard to do, but worth the effort! Good luck!

A tardy I just got a kilt in Highland Granite myself and wonder where you got yours. Mine is a Tewksbury tank, which I wore for Tartan Day. I see you have a lot of Dutch heritage. Are you aware of the Dutch Friendship tartan. I like it, but have had a hard time tracking down a good source, since it's a private company in the Netherlands, as best I understand. My own connection is being a native of the former colony of Nieuw Amsterdam (now known as New York).
