The length is borderline proper, but not too long. I have a couple of kilts that fit like this, but they do feel long to me. But, I'm not selling them! I've sen posters here indicate that for long hikes, that length may be a bit long to avoid wool edge burns on the back of your legs.

It's probably within allowable length range, from what i can see. It might be that you are wearing it a bit too low, and the top could be a couple of inches above the navel.
I prefer the top of the knee length, or shorter.
Some wear even shorter kilts for hiking or long walks.

IMHO the above may be the reason it seems "long", BUT IMHO it is not a problem.
BTW I personally wear mine @ the top of my knees.or a hair longer in the case of a couple.

I have it about 1.5 inches above the navel I suppose. I could pull it up a tad.

I was just wondering if I should order my next kilt at 24 inches, same as the length on this one.
