Many thanks Chris for the splendid photos.
I have driven past the battle field several times but never had sufficient time to make a stop there! Had I known you were going, I might have asked you to take a snap of 'my' memorial paving slab on the Culloden Walk in front of the Visitor Centre. I have a plan showing its location, but no photos.
Although I will be coming up to Edinburgh in July and Dumfries next January, it is likely to be some time before I can get as far north as Culloden to see it for myself.
Take care,
Ham.

Thanks for the pics.
I visited Culloden many years ago while staying at Cameron Barracks with my unit. In the end, I couldn't leave the vehicle and stayed in the car park while my section, all English, toured the battlefield. I was young and emotional; maybe I should pay another visit now I have more grey hairs!
P.S. Any photos of Fort George or Cameron Barracks? I'm sure many here would enjoy them.

Wonderful photos, touching comments from all. When our group does Jacobite, we portray Clan Chattan, since our group are not all of the same clan, therefore a confederation like Chattan. I portray Col. Alexander MacGillivray who was killed at Culloden after hard battle against the Hanoverian left wing and taking several English with him at the last.

Great pictures Chris. It is good to see Lochiel out, leading the parade.I have visited many battlefields in my time and Culloden is the only one with an "atmosphere",what it is I don't know, but it's there.
