Ah, well. It's a small town. What else is there to do on a Thursday?

Mind you, it's larger than I remember from my first visit, in 1967. Quite the metropolis. So much so that I don't live in town! Bloody neighbours...

Just got back from there as a matter of fact. I drank beer. I also made a pilgrimage to see the Wizard, about which more later. The man is a kilted god.

Now here's a funny story -- funny because of your comment above. A group of us decided to take a walking tour of downtown Victoria led by a professional guide. I guess you could call him a "docent" but though the walk was billed as an "historical walking tour" it was really ghost stories. OK, cheap at twice the price, so...

During the course of the walk we meandered past the Sally Ann where one of the local dispossessed was trying to rally his mates to moon the group.

Not the first time in Vic for me by a long shot! Blew a reasonable amount of money on kilt bling and hose, ate an unreasonable amount of really good Dutch pastries, stuffed myself on curry times three, and courtesy of the Wizard found a lovely little bagel bakery (and collected a really good story from a gent who was in line ahead of me).

All in all a most enjoyable few days. Next time I'm bound that way we should get up a kilt night at the Bengal or something...
