    Well, now I've done it.

So, I have a kilt being made. A 16oz wool kilt in Thompson Dress tartan. It is not going to be ready unitl sometime in May.

Being the impatient fellow I am, and after logging in here daily, I just couldn't wait any longer, so I ordered a Stillwater kilt yesterday. I rationalized it by thinking that when I compete in some heavy games, it would be a shame to use my nice wool kilt, and possibly damage it, so why not get a Stillwater Standard Weight for that purpose.

When it arrives, which I think should be fairly soon, I hear very good things about Stillwater, and quick shipping, I think a kilt night will be in order to go out and celebrate my new un-bifurbricatedness.

I'll post some pics when it gets here. Now, back to watching the mailbox.

This site and you people, are a bad influence...

You get it yet? SWK ships fast.... I think you will like it, it's like a tradish kinda sorta but inexpensive.. a beater kilt you can get dirty and not worry about the investment you have in it.

I too am patiently waiting on my 16 oz wool box pleat, and I bought yet another SWK to wear for my casual outings.

Now, the fun will truly begin. It will be all about the accesories There are so many hose, shoes, jackets, etc. to be had. Just looked at the one kilt, 10 looks. sticky. My God!!

This whole kilt thing is like some kind of drug...lol.

We'd take up a collection for you but we've all...

    (select all that apply:
    a) just bought a tank, two daywear jackets and and a PC from Scotweb,
    b) logged on, meant to buy one SWK, but somehow ended up with three,
    c) went to order some handknit hose cuffs via Matt Newsome and discovered that box pleat kilts are amazing and suddenly NEED one,
    d) had a spell cast on us by the Wizard of BC's website and have started sending money, even though we haven't ordered anything (yet!),
    e) realized that our USAK Black Stewart is lonely and needs company...NOW!

take a picture of what's left of your money, it's the last you'll see of it.

    :ootd:

Welcome to the asylum. I have two SWK "heavyweight" wool kilts and one Thrifty. They're excellent value for the price. And the Thrifty is so easy to just wrap around my middle when I get home from work.
