And OMG - someone should have shown that poor child how to wear a cap tally.
ARRGGGGHHHHH --- HATE!!!!
With a kilt, no,no,no...sorry bud, would look weird.
(also all the guff about it being a piece of uniform, and illegal to wear it yadda yadda BS rumblings, you know what i mean)
Also, what is weird, is the chin stay (strap under chin) is even sown on incorrectly, he couldnt wear it properly if he wanted to...
The blue Jean collar has two stripes? mental. (costume)
Though I think the bow might have been at the back with the ribbon ends trailing down the back in the Victoria era.
(supposed to end up looking like a rosette nowdays)
The Navy was always "hip" when it came to the latest fashions, hence the meriard of Officers and ratings uniforms over the years...
Never heard that one before, always referred to mine as a "dinner plate" or "cool kids spastic lid"
These hats are also the navies greatest secret weapons, before any shore rig runs (Royal NZ Navy Regs, I should add), all junior NCOs and below have these and their lanyards removed after dusk, the hats are hard as hell on the edge, and when clasped in one hand make a heck of damage to others who get in the way.
