Sgian Dubh Brew
Just finished this sgian-bottle opener earlier today.
The wood is bodark (known as Osage Orange to some) harvested from a large tree on my property. The snake head was cast made from a grey ratsnake found DOR.
The pewter bolster was poured from various leftover scraps.
The business end is an ordinary regular bottle opener that I tempered and treated with a browning solution to darken. I thought that looked better than the original bright shiny metal. Total length is 6.5 inches.

Cool, very well done. The snake head is excellent and the darkened opener end is, as you say, much better than shiny metal.

That is cool as heck! The darkened opener and snake head frame the piece well.

You're the real master. But honestly I really don't like this "snake" version. For me it would be much nicer without it. Somehow I don't find this snake fits to rest of the masterpiece.
As I said, it shows that you're the master!

Good Job! I like the browning of the "Business" (pleasure?) end. I agree that it looks better than bright metal. I also like the Osage for the handle. I have a walking stick made of the osage heartwood. The wood will darken over time and look even better.

Great job, JS. I really like the "browned" opener.

Artful, yet functional. I approve.
