Make the total length of the pressing plates at least 26" long X 6"-8" wide. The Shape of the plates must be the shape of a section of a cylinder for 2/3 their length and a section of a cone for the remaining 1/3 length.
Connect the presser plates to the base with an arm that would allow a full Kilt to be placed on either side of the pressing plates. Sort of like a free arm. At least an 8" radius of clearance on each side of the plates.
Have the Temp. rheostat control accurate between 110 deg F. and 260 deg F.
Include a separate steam boiler of at least 5 gallon capacity with integral calcium deposit elimination or cleaning. The water tank must have a visual lever indicator.
There must be an overtemp shut-off, low water level shutoff, steam pressure control and relief valve, and in-line circuit breaker.
It would be nice if the water tank and/or boiler could be refilled while under pressure.
Have the upper pressing plate capable of locking with at least 100 lbs force over a range of 0"-3" displacement.
Have the steam emit from the top presser plate through the Kilt and into the bottom presser plate at approx. 3-5 atmospheres.
Have the 100% Egyptian Cotton pressing plate covers coated with Teflon and an aluminum heat resistant surface .003" to .005" thick, removable for washing and replaceable.
It would be real nice if the bottom pressing plate had a steam collection and blow-by control chamber to keep down overheating the room, scalding the operator or over humidifying the room.
Is that enough to give you a challenge?
