I picked up two DOR usable corn snakes over the weekend. I've been wanting to attempt a sporran with a cantle composed of a serpent's body. I finally have sufficient length without road-rash to do so.

Though I would prefer something with more heavily keeled scales for a more prominent effect.

That's precisely what I was thinking. That would be an impressive casting.

I've been visually scouring the roads recently, so far nothing. I even placed my old Pillstroms's behind the seat in my pickup.

I found a neonate, pictured below. Unfortunately, he's a bit small for much of anything.

As the proud owner of one of Steve's Sgian Dubhs I can attest to the fact that the pic does not do it justice. They are very different works of art.
