    My Jones Begins...

Well, I finally did it! I ordered my 4-yard custom casual kilt from Matt Newsome today and am seriously jonesing now. 16oz Lamont Weathered tartan with matching tartan flashes. I'm ordering it for my wedding weekend festivities in October, but it will be here in plenty of time to enjoy it BEFORE then as well. In the spirit of the new order, post some photos of YOUR Weathered Lamont kilts to hold me over. haha.

Congratulation!! Buying a kilt is Step #1 on the 12 Step program.

Just a wee addiction, doesn't hurt at all.

Congratulations on ordering, I hope you let Matt know when you need it by, it seems with the line being as long as it is 5 months may be cutting it close.

Ahhh...you've signed up for the beautiful pain we call fresh-jonesing. Savor it! It's one of my favorites. Mid-jonesing isn't so good... I have a hard time with that. That mid-jonesing can feel interminable. Late-stage jonesing, well that is not for the faint of heart... but you've got plenty of time to train for it!!

Hey McMurdo! Well, this isn't a box-pleat being made in-house, it's one of the knife-pleat options that are made-to order in Scotland. So, I'm looking at 8-12 weeks vs. 5 months. He knows I need it by October, and at this rate I'm looking at getting it in mid-July or early August. Can't wait!

8 weeks? 5 months? It's still a wait regardless. I'm beginning to get a little antsy myself to get a Newsome as well. I figure, if I order it within the next month or two, I could have it by the time it starts cooling down in Texas. Maybe I could even convince my wife to make it part of my b-day gift or something....

Yeah... I'm excited about it for sure. The good thing is that it would be too heavy to enjoy in the summer anyway... The Lamont Weathered tartan fabric is, if the source I read is correct, a very heavy, hardy fabric that will turn out pretty well in a 4-yard casual kilt. I have a feeling an 8-yard kilt in this tartan would be a real beast for cold weather. 4-yards will be manageable for most conditions, and perfect for the October wedding weather.

Glad you'll have it in time, the 9 month wait for the Carolina was almost unbearable, of course once it was delivered the wait was worth it.
