Stay-at-home mom or dad is something to be proud of and anyone that doesn't think it's a full-time job has never done it.

After 15 years as a Dental laboratory technician, I'm now in the process of becoming a lab manager. Only problem is, we're so busy right now, I spend most of my time being a technician. Looks like we're catching up finally after 6 weeks of being up to our eyeballs in work. Might actually get into the office next week to get after the inbox and pay some bills

Since this thread was active, it's two years and a serious worldwide economic downturn later.
How many XMarkers are still doing the same work? How many have changed careers by choice or by necessity? Retired [you lucky dogs]? Gotten rich by winning a lottery?

I've been writing grants and funding proposals and doing marketing and development for a nonprofit community mental health center for nearly 13 years now. Most days, I wouldn't trade it for the world.
Why, a child of five could understand this. Quick -- someone fetch me a child of five!

I'm the Executive Director of a restored theatre in Savannah's Historic District and have been for 7 years now... don't let the title fool you, in addition to all the "suit" work (fund-raising, Board work, etc.) I also change light bulbs, repair seats, and "other duties as may be needed!!"
Wouldn't trade it for the world.
