    Capes, hose and catching up.

Well, we are still deprived of the internet at home so I thought I would post this catch up in the off topic with a few pictures.
Diane and I are doing well. We're very happy and I'm looking for a job now that I can work.
Cody has settled in great, as have the four new chicks. And the other chickens and the cats are doing well, too.

    On to the important stuff;
I got a wonderful thing in the mail on Wednesday. My Vmac original Inverness cape.
This things is FANTASTIC! A Saltire blue with red lining. It fits perfectly and is very comfortable. And it looks GREAT.

Here are pictures of the cape on it's own with a close of up the buttons. (Which I love.)

Now, the weather isn't right for wearing it just now, but I already hung some fresh cedar next to it to keep it safe.
Now, as for a picture of me in it, I thought it went wonderfully with the regency outfit I have been working on!

    What do you think?

I also lucked out on some shoes. For a long time I have been looking for a good quality pair of brogues.I wanted something that would last so that I could resole them when need be but keep the general shoe. I have short but very wide feet so I never could get anything right.
Diane and I stopped by a yard sale at her old high school. They were trying to get money for new marching band uniforms and since Diane was in the marching band we had to help out.
Imagine my surprise when my eyes lit upon a pair of GREAT quality Chancellor brogues in my size. They have a heavy duty but discreet rubberised sole, a padded tongue and they fit perfectly. These things have been barely worn but they will last me years!
    And they only cost $2.50!!!

And to top it off, Diane is making great progress on my Kilt hose. I am eagerly awaiting them and watching as the second one gets closer and closer to being ready.
    Here's the first.

So while I miss Xmarks terribly, I am doing well and I am happy.

    Take care!

Ooooh!! Everything is cool -- great deal on the shoes, the hose are spectacular, and how awesome that you have a new cape. Great photo of you wearing it -- you look very handsome in it (great expression on your face, too).

It's so wonderful to hear an update from you... we've all missed you. Good luck with everything!

    Arlen

Diane and you have both been missed, the cape looks wonderful, but then I knew it would. The shoes are a great find, congratulations on them. As for the hose, well it looks like Diane is making some great progress on the hose, they are amazing I'm sure you will treasure them. Good to see you back again, hope you get the internet figured out at home soon.

Congratulations on the cape, and glad that the chickens and kitties are getting along well.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
