Kilt for the husband

You have now progressed beyond the scope of the book, since I wrote in nothing about what to do if the guys waist measurement is bigger than his rumpus. However, because you've searched X marks for help and found that thread, there is hope!

I do appreciate the help. The rogue made the call last night that he wants me to forge ahead and if he has to wear the 1st attempt at trouser waist and it not be "quite" right then so be it. There is still enough fabric for a 2nd attempt.

I still say you only learn by doing, and I'm having fun learning.

I did the taper this morning. I tried it on him and funny enough it fits just fine.

He likes it, so to me that is what makes me happy.

Sorry no blood sisters, but I passed along my review of the directions on patternreview.com. My "sewing sisters" were heighly inerested. Last I checked the review has been viewed 300+ time, and I have gotten several "very helpful" reviews on the review. I have also gotten several messages saying they are going to make kilts for their men. One even was going to make kilts for her boys to wear in the town's Celtic pride 5K run. Raises money for chairty. I think it is cool

I'm happy that the kilt is now finished, and the rogue's only quibble was that I put the pocket too low. I can fix that easily.

Now my husband's best friend is bugging me for one. If I can only get him to stand still long enough to get his proper measurements. I certainly wouldn't want to make this 6'2" guy's kilt to short. Though I'm afraid I've created a couple monsters in both of them!

So many of us are just so darn grateful for the X-kilt manual and the fact that you were kind enough to provide it for free should get you some points with those ladies.

You are scoring ALOT of points with them actually. They were heighly impressed by it. In fact they were amazed that they can get it for free, and that you wrote it in such detail. I got comments that most kilt directions like this they were charging $30-40. You have got quite a few ladies impressed.

I got a PM from one lady who said that she showed it to her man, and he said "Hey I could make this. It is in my language! Can I borrow your machine?"

I just wish their was a Prince charles or Argyle jacket pattern out there that was as easy as the X-Kilt. The only other pattern that I know of is one by Folklore, and it was getting bad reviews. You could wear it but not move in it. I guess that just means I have to make my own pattern.
