I wear black with my red side drum when playing for for the morris dancing at Sidmouth folk festival - just black for the everyday, then for the torchlit procession on the last night I wear red shoes, then add red roses around my hat and a red velvet plaid.

It is quite hard to make an impression amongst all the eye catching uniforms of the sides and teams, and the excentric onlookers, but I seem to manage.

Because you've never had a high school choir that you had to outfit quickly and cheaply. You learn all kinds of things when confronted with an upcoming concert.

I went to a function last christmas in all black, save for red flashes and red jabot. Don't know what others present thought, but one or two said "looks good". I thought it did which is what matters IMHO, no-one said anything negative.
