18th Century Living History/Military Reenactment
May 15, 16, 17, Jerusalem Mill Village/Gunpowder Falls State Park, Kingsville, MD (http://www.jerusalemmill.org/redcoats.htm). About 700 Brits (50 Highland soldiers) and the same number of Continental troops will battle it out during the weekend, Revolutionary War era. Camps will be open to the public with activities for all people: men, women, children. This is a living history camp and military reenactment. I've posted this because our Highland troops will be present; soldiers of the 42nd RHR Hat Company and Grenadier Company(my lads!), the 84th, and 71st Grenadiers. Malcolm,
I may try to come up on Saturday. Partly to visit/watch and partly to let one of your recruits view and/or purchase my musket. I've got my daughter's college graduation on Sunday, so plans are only tentative at this point.

This event has now been cancelled....After a year of planning and all the folks making schedules work for this......with a week of rain in that area, the camping fields are flooded. There is a creek along the camping area and it rose so they don't think the fields will be dried out by next week. Our next big event is Under the Redcoat, Williamsburg, recreating the 1781 takeover of that town by Cornwallis. But, alas, no kilts. By that time, Highlanders were in trews. Malcolm

Does this mean we'll have the pleasure of your company up at Ft Plain? Plenty of kilts there.

Malcolm,
Sorry to hear this as I was planning to come up for it. Unfortunately, while you're at Williamsburg I'll be at Ft Ti.

Sorry, it now allows me to be a bit earlier for my daughter's college grad. in Brooklyn!! And, to mow the yard, again and again and again!! Malcolm

Congratulations on the end of college expenses (hopefully, the payments too), but the Vicar will still be displeased.
I'm considering giving up mowing, at least the back. I figure I can just tie flags to the dogs to keep track of them when they're out there.
