    Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

has anyone read the jane austen parody pride and prejudice and zombies?
my understanding of it is that, as in the original, this story is set in late georgian england but that the dialogue has been modernized somewhat.

    anyone?

Saw it, heard it was decent, but have no desire to pick it up.

Although I am about half way through "The Good Faries of New York" which has the Scottish Faries all wearing Kilts (regardless of gender) though I admit, if I hadn't gotten into kilts, I would be confused at times when they refer to Sigh Dubh or Sporrans.

My wife received it for Mother's Day and was enjoying it last night. Every few minutes she would laugh and say it was a pretty funny book. She said something about Mr. Darcy having to fight the zombies. Can't speak for the dialogue.

I need to get this for my fiance, who loves Jane Austen, and zombies. Supposedly, it's a retelling of the original story with an added zombie storyline. Completely brilliant, if you ask me!

A Tale of Two Cities with Zombies, with undead Sans-Cullotterie, would be more to my taste.

In the end, they could actually be chopping the heads back on... On to different bodies of course.

Yes, decapitation or a good splattering head shot are the only ways to "kill" a zombie.

My wife has been reading the book this evening, laughing and sharing bits with the rest of the family as she goes. I'm not reading it, but she has shown or read several passages to me.

In general, the book appears to follow the story of Pride and Prejudice, with much the same language as the original book, but with the added twist of a zombie virus causing the dead to leave their graves and terrorize the English. No word on whether the virus has spread to Scotland.

Very tongue in cheek with some rather witty comments by the various characters - Elizabeth Bennett, Darcy, et al. Apparently Lizzie favors a musket and Katana sword to dispatch the "unmentionables."
