Oh, a waistcoat with notched lapels; DWFII prefers those. I was wondering if that waistcoat would work with a Jabot. Basically what Matt is wearing with the dress Argyle, but the different neckwear...
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

Yuppers, and with reason. I'm wearing a half-belted plaid with that outfit, which required a belt to keep it on. Notice, though, that I'm wearing the belt outside of the waistcoat. If one were wearing the full feilidh-mor (belted plaid) with a waistcoat, that's also how I'd do it.

If I were sans plaid I wouldn't have the belt on.

You would wear abelt over the waistcoat if wearing a derk too, right?

Although, I think someone had a picture of a chief wearing a belt with a waistcoat, but I don't remember the details.

The hired attire for my son's wedding this Saturday includes a rouche tie and appropriately collared shirt.

This is not something in the normal wardrobe of any of the groomsmen, so I thought I should ask here as the subject - or object - has come up at just the right moment. It really is quite strange how this happens.

How is the tie best knotted to give the correct look, and what is it?

Short answer: a four-in-hand knot. More or less loosely tied, to taste.

Alternatively, omit the "tucking through" of the knot, and secure with a stick-pin.

    Congratulations to all!

I am just pleased with some great photos once again. I aspire to get there one day. Some people just look like they exited the womb kilted.
