    Lamont Tartans

I want to get a kilt I am from Clan Lamont I see on there website that they have four tartans to choose from Modern, Ancient, Muted and Weathered/Hunting. Which one should I choose for my first kilt? I can fine tartan number for Modern and Ancient but not for Muted and Weathered/Hunting.

I plan on getting a Lamont Modern next. My surname is one of those that is associated MacGregor and Lamont.

With the Lamont, they all look really sharp, but when it comes to dark colors like this, I'm always a sucker for the muteds, ancients and weathereds. The colors just seem to come out more.

    Welcome, Patrick.

The modern, ancient, weathered, and muted versions are all the same thread count. Only the color palette varies from one to the other.

I'm not familiar with a Lamont hunting: the one shown at http://www.clanlamontsociety.co.uk/ may be a muted version.

Welcome Patrick; tough decision ah! You will have that each time you choose a new Kilt. That's all part of the fun. Waiting{JONES} for the delivery is the other part, for a new kilt, accessory, etc.

I'm not a Lamont, but I've always thought the Weathered Lamont is a great looking tartan.

I have one of the Lamont Hunting from Stillwater Kilts and it is great! Easily one of my favorite kilts.

    Hey Dennis,
Check the Lochcorron (sp?) site and go to their strome weight cloth. They show the muted Lamont tartan there. It's classed as "old and rare" so it will cost a pretty penny more. I have the Lamont modern and I like it very much, you can dress it up or down as you wish although I think it dresses up much better. Having said that, I'm waiting on a tank in ancient Lamont as we speak. Good luck.
