Ah, Wilson is all hot air. One of these days I will be able to get there ahead of him and poach his "spot", just to rile him up! BTW, Turpin, Wilson gets married next weekend!
I always try to camp near the Cathedral, that is one spot that has NEVER been torn up by a storm. Ken has it down to a science.
I'll look forward to seeing you there, Turpin, and anyone else that wanders down MacVillage way...just look for the Canadian and Ontario flags, and the ugly brown tarp overhead!

How far are the games from the hotel situation? Did all the camping I will ever do during my two tours in S.E. Asia.

It would be a tough walk from the downtown area. If hotels are your choice, you might also want to look into the Boone and Blowing Rock areas. There are shuttle buses that run every 15 minutes, at a cost. There are a number of nice B&B's in the surrounding area, but again they would be a pretty good hike up the mountain.

Bad ticker, won't be doin' any up hill hiking. I will drive or take the shuttle. The B&B's sound good.

You will be hard-pressed to find parking on the mountain - it's pretty limited. GMHG runs shuttles from remote lots. They work pretty well. Once you are up on the mt. it'swas all worth it.

The kids and I will be there again this year. Last year we had a tent and showed up on the first day of the games. We ended up sliding into whatever space was available. This year, I've rented a pop up and we'll be there on the Monday before. A whole week on the mountain. I'm drooling just thinking about it. Can't wait. See you all there. Just look for the Iraqi Freedom Veterans flag.
